Owls are considered the symbol of wisdom. While stunningly beautiful, most of the time we see them in a passive posture. I love this photo as it shows this screech owl in motion, eyes wide open and going after its target. That is how the pursuit of knowledge should be - active and focused.

Hopefully at the end of the hunt is a nourishing morsel - or maybe even a full meal. In terms of healthcare education, the pursuit might be for better resuscitation techniques, patient care, critical thinking skills or leadership abilities. I heard it said the other day that leaders are readers -

I've thought a lot about that saying in terms of our students, staff, faculty and certainly myself.
